Imbedded Library Instruction

ENG 1033 & 3003

Working closely with the English Department, these sessions offer:

3 sessions of direct instruction for students in these courses.
We discuss the Research Process, the Information Cycle, and various types of research resources.
We introduce Discovery - the Library Catalog, and various databases that support the topic(s) being researched.
We wrap it up with hands-on instruction in one of the iClass computer labs here at McFarlin.
- Librarians are available during this session to help students with research.

CaneCareers
TU’s CaneCareers team works tirelessly to ensure every new graduate can find a job in their chosen field. From resume workshops and mock interviews to etiquette dinners and job fairs, students are prepared to compete for coveted positions even before they graduate.
CAPS
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers clinical services to all students and a broad range of professional, educational and consultative services to faculty and staff. We are trained to help college students adjust to the changes and transitions of college life as well as to help faculty and staff function more effectively in their roles.

Gen1TU
Gen1TU is established to provide first-generation (first-gen) college students with a community and network of peers that foster personal growth, academic success and embody what it means to be the first in their family to attend college. The term “first-generation college student” is defined as a student whose parents or guardians did not obtain a degree from a four-year college or university.
First-Gen students face unique challenges when navigating through higher education, and Gen1TU exists to help first-gen students connect and share their experiences by providing a community of peers at The University of Tulsa.
Hurricane Health
The Hurricane Health Center powered by CareATC provides care and treatment of minor illnesses and minor emergencies for all full- and part-time students. Appointments can be scheduled online or by phone.
New Student Programs
Making the transition to college can be both exciting and challenging for new students and their families. The University of Tulsa is perfectly sized to offer students new experiences and the freedom of self-discovery, while providing the comfort and connections of a close-knit community.
True Blue Pantry
The TU Food Pantry was established to provide emergency relief to help students and staff at The University of Tulsa and is a direct response to the need. With rising costs, it has become increasingly difficult for students to manage the costs of living with the costs of obtaining a degree, and many students find themselves choosing between essentials such as food and the costs of college.
