What you should know about McFarlin Library
- It's easy to get help! McFarlin Library is an essential service to all TU students, faculty and staff. Use our Personalized Research Assistance for in-person or online assistance with creating a great research topic, locating relevant and appropriate sources, and using library databases.
- Not sure what words to use to describe what you need in the library? This glossary might help.
- Most university libraries are not very quiet! However, McFarlin has 2 Reading Rooms on the plaza level with strict rules about noise. There are also study carrels located throughout the stacks on the main level that do not need to be reserved.
- Would you rather study alone? McFarlin has 2 private study rooms that can be checked out by students at the circulation desk on the plaza level.
- Working in a study group or on a group assignment? We have a 3rd floor student study that can be used by smalls groups. There are also tables and whiteboards on the browsing floor of the main level that are open to group work as well.
- Need coffee or a treat while you’re working in the library? There is a full-sized Starbucks on the plaza level of the library.
- Curious about the items you can check out that aren’t books? Library has DVDs, hammocks, and dry erase markers that can checked out by students.
