McFarlin sits in the heart of campus, and can be accessed easily via the footpaths from nearly every building.
If you are driving to McFarlin, there is a parking lot on the north side of the building. Though this lot is reserved for parking pass holders, there are several designated "visitor" spots on the west end of the lot.
Located on the Plaza Level of the library near the main entrance, this desk is a excellent starting point to get help in the library. You can checkout and return items at this desk. You can talk to one of the staff members at the desk if you need to find a room or resource. If you are meeting with a librarian or another student, the circulation desk is a recommended meeting spot.
Located on the Plaza Level, The North and South Reading Rooms are not only gorgeous but they are the two rooms in the library that are reserved for silent, individual study. These rooms have plenty of tables and outlets to help you stay focused and get work done.
Located on the Main Level of the library, this desk is staffed by a knowledgeable and helpful library staff member from 9-5, Monday - Friday. If you have issues with the printer, need help finding a book, or have questions about a library resource, the reference desk can help.
The Browsing Floor of the library is located on the Main Level. There is seating and table workspace for both groups and individuals. The workspaces are first come, first served, so you never need to reserve a spot. In addition to the workspaces, the Browsing Floor has 4 whiteboards for student use, as well as a wide selection of popular fiction and DVDs that can be checked out by students. Important: The Browsing Floor closes 30 minutes BEFORE the other levels of the library.
Located on the Browsing Floor, these 7 computers can be used by anyone with a TU NetID. You can use them for work or to print. These computers can access the network printer on this floor, and will use your PaperCut account for printing just as any other campus device will. You can also use the printer on this floor to scan and make copies of existing paperwork by logging into the machine directly.
Located throughout the Main and Intermediate Level bookstacks, these study carrels can be used by any students who want a quiet and calm workspace. Much like the workspaces on the Browsing Floor, these study carrels are first come, first served and require no reservation.
Located on the Main Level, this individual study room can be checked out for 4 hours at a time. This room has a desk, chair, and access to Wi-Fi. This room is available to individuals on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the key can be checked out with a valid TU ID at the Circulation Desk.
The Learning Studio is a versatile space within the library, designed to accommodate workshops and collaborative groups up to 30 people. Equipped with movable furniture and ample seating, this space encourages creativity and active learning. Whether you're hosting a hands-on workshop, a group project session, or a guest lecture, the Learning Studio provides the flexibility to configure the room to suit your needs. This space is available by reservation during McFarlin open hours. This room is located on the Main Level of McFarlin (M280).

This lounge area can be used for students working individually, in small groups, or as a place to chat between classes. There is a whiteboard in this spaces that can be used by students, as well as an interactive presentation screen (coming soon).
Though it has the same beautiful, academic vibes as the North and South Reading Rooms, this 3rd floor student study can be used for small group or individual study. There are small couches, plenty of tables for study, and outlets at all the tables.
Located next to the Writing Center, the 3rd Floor Conference Room is available for check out for 4 hours at a time. The room is equipped with a whiteboard, an interactive presentation screen, and a table that seats 10. This room is available for use by groups on a first-come, first-serve basis. The key can be checked out with a valid TU ID at the Circulation Desk.
The Writing Center is located on the 3rd floor of McFarlin near the south elevator. Though The Writing Center is not run by the staff of McFarlin Library, it is a resource that we are happy have in our building. Need writing help? Click here to make an appointment with the Writing Center.
