We welcome your visit to the Department of Special Collections Collections and University Archives. To make your visit as time efficient and comfortable as possible, please adhere to these guidelines:
Contact us to schedule your visit in advance. Please visit https://aeon.utulsa.edu to create an account, schedule appointments, and request materials. Some of our materials are housed offsite and require extra time for retrieval.
Bring a photo ID. All patrons must provide a photo ID, which will be held by the supervising staff member in the Reading Room while the patron is viewing materials. Exceptions are made for certain government-issued identification printed without a photograph, such as tribal cards.
Personal items must be stored in our lockers. Purses, bags, and large coats may not be brought into the Reading Room.
Dress in layers. The Reading Room can become extremely cold, especially as our HVAC systems attempt to fend off hot and humid Oklahoma summers. We suggest dressing in layers for comfort, but ask that patrons wear outer layers without pockets.
No food, drink, chewing gum, or ink pens in the Reading Room. We can provide pencils and paper as needed.
Laptops, tablets, and paper notebooks are allowed. You may bring small portable electronic devices into the Reading Room for note-taking and research-quality photography. We will ask you to flip through any personal materials that clasp or close shut at the end of your visit for security purposes.
Cameras may be used in a limited capacity only. Flash photography is not allowed. Photography devices with removable lenses are not allowed.
We regret that, at present, The University of Tulsa does not have on-campus housing for visiting scholars.
Visit the Tulsa Convention & Visitors Bureau or other online sources for accommodations and restaurants in the Tulsa area.
