McFarlin Sign Posting Policy
Would you like to post a sign for your club or event here at McFarlin Library?
We have two great spaces for you!
All signs must be pre-approved by a staff member of McFarlin Library before they are displayed.
Process for Approval: (For the four large bulletin boards in McFarlin)
Flyers must fall into one, or more, of the following categories:
TU Clubs, TU Events, TU Job Postings
Student Election Postings – Candidate flyers may be posted two (2) weeks prior to a university sponsored election and taken down the day after the election ends.
Election flyers will be posted together in a central location on the Plaza Level and not on the main bulletin boards
Stop by the Circulation Desk (Plaza Level) or the Reference Desk (Main Level) and let the student or staff member know you need a flyer approved.
To be approved, each flyer must have the:
Name of the TU club or TU organization
Date and time of the event
Location of the event
Contact information (Name or Email)
Link and optional QR Code for the group or organization
No larger than 11x14
Event description (preferred, but not required)
Once approved, signs may only be hung on approved bulletin boards in the library:
Four (4) sign maximum, one (1) per board on the Main Level of the library (down by the Browsing Level) and one (1) per board on the Plaza Level, across from Starbucks
Signs must be removed after the event. If there is no specific date, flyers may be removed at the end of each semester.
Signs may not be taped on doors at the library. This space is reserved for library specific postings.
Signs may no longer be placed on tables.
Additional Information
Only the flyers with the approved “McFarlin Library” stamp may be displayed on the McFarlin Library bulletin boards.
The small, framed bulletin boards in the lobby of McFarlin are for University postings only.
Other flyers posted around the library will be removed and discarded. The exceptions will be McFarlin/Starbucks postings and the flyers that come from the President/Provost’s office or MARCOM
Flyers with the approval stamp from the Student Union still need to be approved by a staff member at McFarlin Library.
