Welcome back! Alumni of the University of Tulsa are allowed individual access to the building Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., provided the library is open.

Information and Research Services

Library staff is available Monday-Friday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. to show visitors how to connect to the wi-fi, navigate the library's website, answer questions about McFarlin's collections, do catalog searches at the research desk, and help find physical materials.

Computers, Databases and Printing

Can I use the library computers for research?

  • The University of Tulsa uses single sign-on for all of its desktop computers. As such, the library does not have computers available for regular visitor use.

Can I use my own device for research?

  • Yes, visitors have access to the campus-wide wi-fi network which they can connect to with their own devices. Our catalog is freely searchable for anyone with an internet connection.

Can I use the printer?

  • The library's printer also utilizes single sign-on and can only be used by current TU faculty, staff, and students. 
  • Members of the public who aren't interested in the McFarlin collections and are solely looking for a space to print can do so at any of the Tulsa City-County Library locations.

Can I use McFarlin Library's electronic databases?

  • Many of our library databases are restricted for use by current University of Tulsa faculty, students, and staff members only. However, there are several online databases that are available to all Oklahoma library users.

Library Associate Memberships - Check Out Privileges

Alumni are welcome to physically visit McFarlin Library and utilize our collection in the library free of charge. 

Circulation privileges are available to Alumni for a discounted rate of $60 a year.

Paid circulation privileges for TU alumni include:

  • The ability to check out up to 10 items at one time. See our FAQ for information regarding due dates, renewing books and fines.
  • If you would prefer to have your items pulled and held for you at the desk, then requests to checkout library materials can be made online at https://libraries.utulsa.edu/BookRetrieval.

Paid circulation privileges for TU alumni do not include:

  • Media items
  • Interlibrary loan
  • Access to the databases
