Tour Guides

For more information about how to submit the materials listed in this guide for a tour material request in Aeon, please see our page on Requesting Materials for a Class or Tour

The Best of Special Collections Guide encompasses some of the most interesting and notable acquisitions made in the department's history. These items give a broad, top-level overview of what we collect in Special Collections, our different areas of subject matter specialty, and are best suited for introduction to an archival setting or general exposure to library special collections.

We recommend actively engaging with the list, doing further research in the catalogs, and being selective about item choices in order to align material types and item contents with your visitor group.

If you choose materials from this guide, please select some of the items listed, rather than requesting everything. There is limited space available on the Reading Room display tables, and Special Collections staff reserve the right to adjust the number of material requests submitted for the safety of our rare books and archival collections.
